چکیده

The Southern African region consists of ten countries including, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, and Swaziland. Frequent drought episodes in the arid semi-arid parts suggest impact climate change need for a sustainable framework groundwater level assessments. In this study, we developed machine learning modelling based on deep belief network (DBN) to predict changes monthly levels (CGWLs) at 1–5 month time scales 27 wells over southern Africa region. With predictor dataset constituted by hydrological parameters, estimates, global indices, ascertain possibility forecasting (CGWL) up 5-month lead times most locations study Using quantile regression technique, strength DBN 90% 95 % confidence were tested, helped determine accuracy our forecasts five months four representative wells. Deep offers new capabilities evaluating non-linear systems, including analysis. re-injection procedure network, which allows prior CGWL estimates serve as inputs next estimate was key maintaining forecast 4th 5th times. This evidenced (r = 0.91, 0.87, 0.81, 0.75), formed part test samples We also observed that is highly susceptible local variables are important drivers change, can have strong fluctuations. Therefore, proved be robust algorithm general assessments

The Environmental Systems Modelling Platform (EnSym) to Assess Effects of Land Use Changes on Groundwater Recharge

This paper describes an application of EnSym (Environmental SystemsModelling Platform) to assess the impacts of climate change on the groundwater levels in Victoria. EnSym is a modular and user-friendly software platform to facilitate the use of environmental modelling tools. It enables easy and rapid evaluation of environmental outcomes due to changes in land management and climatic conditions...

The GEOTHER/VT4 computer code is an improved version of the GEOTHER computer code. The GEOTHER/VT4 code was applied to a two-dimensional simulation of a waste package in a high-level waste repository to predict the thermal-hydraulic environment where steam formation may occur. The thermal-hydraulic environment is important for assessing waste package container corrosion and packing material swe...

A new way to assess superficial changes to lymphoedema

Lymphoedema occurs when the transport capacity of the lymphatic system is reduced while the lymph load remains within a normal range. The failure may be a result of: and transport capacity. At this stage (stage 2), limb volume does not regress on elevation due to the tissue changes. The third stage — rarely seen — manifests as a significantly enlarged limb (or in some cases a small, hard, fibro...

Predicting groundwater level changes using GRACE data

[1] The purpose of this work is to investigate the feasibility of downscaling Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data for predicting groundwater level changes and, thus, enhancing current capability for sustainable water resources management. In many parts of the world, water management decisions are traditionally informed by in situ observation networks which, unfortunat...
